Anita Lou Forsyth Slayton

Anita Lou Forsyth Slayton, 72, of Blytheville, passed from this life Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at her home.

Born in Blytheville to James B. and Ethel Lou Conley Forsyth, she was a retired bookkeeper at Farmers Bank and attended Yarbro Baptist Church.

Anita enjoyed camping, floating the river, working in her yard and watching TV. She was an avid reader and a very determined woman who went through many challenges in life, but her tenacious spirit always got her through. Anita was a loving grandmother who adored her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Joe Slayton.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Jimmy Lou Blackwell and husband, Doug, of Paragould;

Her granddaughters, Laura Louann Duncan and husband, Dennis, of Lexington, Tenn., and Rachel Marie Maynard and husband, Brian Harvey, of Panama City Beach, Fla.;

Her great-grandchildren, Dennis Duncan III, Ella Sandage, Isaac Duncan, Charles Harvey and Kathryne Ruth Duncan; and

A very special cousin, Gary Carter of Blytheville.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery with te Rev. Hershel Conley officiating. There will be no visitation. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
