To the editor:

I wanted to take a minute to say thank you so much for those who have given of their time and money to help the Odyssey of the Mind teams with their fundraising efforts for this year's World Finals in Michigan. It means so much to the kids to be able to perform for you and show you what they have learned by participating in this wonderful problem solving program. We are fortunate at Blytheville School District to have volunteers who take time from their busy schedules to help coach, judge or just help wherever needed.

A special thank you goes out to our GCA group for their gracious donation that paid for our charter bus this year! So wonderful to have them believe in our students like that. I had great volunteers at the Christmas parade hot chocolate sale and Mayfest food booth and dunking booth. We have to have volunteers and donations to make this program work on such a grand scale. The kids have never disappointed up at World Finals. We usually do very well and we go against others from many different countries.

If you would like to watch opening and closing ceremonies on the web, go to www.odysseyofthemind.com and click on World Finals. There will be a link to the live site on May 22 at 7:30 p.m. One or two of our students may be marching in those ceremonies behind the Arkansas flag and banner.

I can't tell you what it means to know we have such a great support group in our community.

Thank you again, from the Odyssey of the Mind Booster Club.
