Jack Wagner

Mr. Jack Presley Wagner, 88, of Manila, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Earle, he was the son of the late Nolan and Grace Evelyn Cokenour Wagner and had lived most of his life in Manila. He was a 1942 graduate of Manila High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Wagner was a well known businessman having been involved in farming and real estate throughout his life. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Manila.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Jack Wagner, and a grandson, Paul Jack Wagner.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Martha Davis Wagner of the home; one grandson, Michael H. Wagner and his wife, Andi, of Monticello; five great-grandchildren, Katlyn Wagner, Paul Michael Wagner, Micah Wagner, Presley Jean Wagner, and Jack Thomas Wagner.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Manila with Rev. Jerry Pentecost officiating. Burial with Military Honors followed in Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.

Active pallbearers were Tony Crowell, Dr. Tommy Wagner, Wes Wagner, J.P. Baugher, Ricky Cherry and Charlie Fleeman. Honorary pallbearers included Wayne Wagner, Dr. Kevin Adkins, Casey Wells, Gary Baugher, Chris Gipson, Allen McCullough, Jessie Hill, Wendell Poteet, Craig Costner, Carroll Towell, Paul Wayne Fleeman, Dan Gamble, Joe Dean Pierce, David Leffler, and the NEAT campers.

The family received friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the church.
