Caraway

Mrs. Alanthia June Overman, 76, of Caraway died Monday March 25, 2013, at Lakeside Nursing Home in Lake City. Born Oct. 17, 1936, in Caraway she was the daughter of the late Robert and Leland Ingram Wood and had been a longtime area resident. Mrs. Overman was a member of the Community Church in Caraway and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her stepmother, Carolyn Wood of Jonesboro; one son, Gary Overman and wife Dawn of Monette; one daughter, Kathy Polston and husband Harley of Newark, Del.; three grandchildren, Bryce Overman of Jonesboro, Clint Polston of Philadelphia, Penn., and Heath Polston of Fayetteville; one sister, Sharon Waugh and husband Reggie of Caraway. Mrs. Overman also leaves several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Mrs. Overman was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Community Church in Caraway with Rev. Gary Earnhart and Mrs. Loretta Qualls officiating. Burial followed in the Caraway Cemetery with Faith Funeral Service of Manila in charge of arrangements.

The family received visitors from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday, March 28, at the church.

Pallbearers were Ronald Faulkner, Harvey Edward Faulkner, Hunter Miller, Curtis Miller, Ronald Gipson, and Don Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers were Harvey Faulkner, George Gipson, Charles Smith, Jerry Qualls, Larry Emison, Bill Stotts, Kenny Weathers, Roger Bell and Benny Wayne Overman.
