Ricky Stephen Courtney

Mr. Ricky Stephen Courtney, 57, of Blytheville, passed from this life Monday, March 4, 2013, at his home.

Born in Blytheville to Norwood and Kathryn Gladden Courtney, he was a former nursing home administrator for Beverly Enterprises and was of the Baptist faith.

Ricky was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist College at Arkadelphia where he attended on a baseball scholarship. He was an outstanding baseball player and played for the American Legion team during his high school years. Ricky was an avid reader and he loved his dog "Belle."

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Norwood Courtney; and a sister, Phyllis West.

He is survived by his mother, Kathryn Courtney Thompson, of Springdale;

His brother, Larry Courtney and wife, Saundra, of Rogers;

An uncle, Charlie Gladden of Dermott;

Two nephews, Jason West of Manassas, Va., and Craig Courtney of Rogers;

Four nieces, Rene Alexander of Blytheville and Lisa McNulty, Kerrie Heiligenthal and Sherre Ward, all of Rogers; and

Several great-nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. until service time. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
