Mary Alice Lane

Mary Alice Lane, 86, of Osceola, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Osceola. Born May 10, 1926, in Clarkesdale, she was a retired school teacher and nutritionist, a member of St. Mark A.M.E. Church of Osceola, and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Saundra Kay Lane; nine brothers; and two grandchildren, Mary Alice Lane and Lawrence Lane, Jr.

Ms. Lane leaves two sons, Torrence (and Brenda) Lane and Lawrence (and Flossie) Lane, all of Osceola;

One sister, Evelyn Wiseman of Clarkesdale; and

Ten grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Larry Strong, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
