One-man show at Gosnell City Hall?

Friday, January 4, 2013

To the editor:

On Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, the front page of the Courier News has an article which announced the firing of the (Gosnell) chief of police by the mayor, Don Marshall.

His reasoning was, "in his opinion, it was best for the city of Gosnell."

In this same article, a city council member indicated that she and others were unaware of the decision. I know this to be true because my daughter and daughter-in-law, both city council members, did not know anything about this personnel decision by the mayor.

Where are the voices of the ELECTED city officials who express concerns that represent the consensus of the people of Gosnell and what is best for the city? Are we a city where decisions are made by a governing body or by one individual? You decide.
