Mr. J.W. Greer, 86, of Blytheville, passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at his home.

Born in Blytheville to Herman Leslie and Mabel Augusta Rustin Greer, he was a Navy veteran, having served during WWII, was retired from Nibco and was an employee of Riggs.

J.W. was also a member of Ruddle Road Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, making donkey carts and wishing wells. Though limited in education, he had a unique ability to adapt to any situation. He was able to face challenges and create unique items at each place he was employed. He was a devoted father, grandfather and husband. His faith in God was strong and his love for his family was exceeded only by his love for Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three wives, Eileen, Audrey and Mary Greer; a son, James William Greer; a grandson, Jimmy Greer; and a sister, Robbie Lucille Reed.

He is survived by his children, Doyne "B.J." Greer and wife, Michele of Dallas, Karen Dixon and husband, Danny, and Sharon Harrington and husband, David, both of Blytheville;

His grandchildren, Jenifer Figge, Lesley Ross, B.J. Figge, Kelly Privett, Michael Harrington, Chase Harrington, Megan Leslie, Sherry Pauda, Dana Palmer, Laurie Arias, Derek Potts and Glenda Vazquez; and

A sister, Imogene Flagg of Humboldt, Tenn.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
