Mr. Ervin Johnson, 82, of Blytheville passed from this life Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at his home.

Born in Morrilton to Austin Guinn and Willie Lee (Stell) Johnson, he was a United States Marine, who proudly served during the Korean War. Ervin was a retired farmer, was a member of the First Baptist Church and was the former mayor of Dell. He was a hard worker who loved his family, his coffee drinking buddies and his dog, Chip.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Whistle Johnson; a son, Byron Johnson; four brothers and four sisters.

Ervin is survived by his wife, Charlene French Johnson, whom he married Nov. 20, 2002;

Two sons, Greg Johnson and wife, Regina, of Dell, and Scott Johnson and wife, Tammy, of Manila;

A brother, Birl Johnson of Kewanee, Mo.;

Ervin took delight in his two grandchildren, Jordan Johnson and Josh Johnson, and his seven step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cobb Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mitchell King Jr. and the Rev. Steve Baillio officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Graveside services will be private.
