Letter to the Editor

Senseless violence and beautifying Blytheville

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

To the editor:

I writing this letter in order to shed light on these killings in this town. There has been too much violence in this small city. Oh, we are getting put on the map, but for the wrong reason.

In order for this city grow, we must as a community and citizens take back our streets from this lawless violence. If you want companies and businesses to come in this town, then we must take a long look at ourselves. You have to ask yourself what kind of future do you want for your children and grandchildren?

The time for action is now. There is only one way this city will thrive and grow. We need a chamber of commerce that is serious about growing this city and not just lip service. We have some of the most horrible streets and city blocks in this township. I'm not saying this because I hate this town -- I love Blytheville and will continue to love this city that I call my home town.

No disrespect to the mayor's office -- Mayor Sanders is doing a good job, given the mess he inherited from the previous administration. But we can do better.

Just a few thoughts I wanted to get off my chest.
