Hazel Ray

Mrs. Hazel Ray of Springdale passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Springdale Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Ray was born in Marcella, Ark., to Hiram Lavoid and Eulia May Doolin. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Blytheville and after relocating she became a member of Richland Baptist Church in West Memphis. Hazel was a homemaker and was known for her excellent cooking skills.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Max Logan Ray Jr.; a son, William Raymond Ray; a grandson, Aaron Raymond Ray; and two sisters, Marie Warren and Mary Griggs.

She is survived by her sons, Max Ray and wife, Donna, of Southaven, Miss., Russell Ray and wife, Betty, of Jonesboro, Mitch Ray of Bentonville and Dan Ray and wife, Sherry, of Lampe, Mo.;

Eight grandchildren, Daniel Ray, Candra Ray, Landra Ray Kennedy and husband, Pete, Todd Ray and wife, Marie, Bryan Ray and wife, Daisy, Shondra Holden and husband, Jason, Amanda Ray and Nathan Ray; and

Six great-grandchildren, Olivia Holden and Jase Holden; siblings Finis Doolin of Batesville, Jimmie Doolin of Overland Park, Kan., and Fern Cassidy of St. Louis, and Ollie Golden of Enterprise, Ala.

Funeral services will be held held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time for services. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
