Cletus Watson Hudson

Mr. Cletus Watson Hudson, 85, of Mountain Home, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, in his home surrounded by his wife and children. Mr. Hudson was born into a family of 10 children Aug. 26, 1926, in Humboldt, Tenn., to Albert and Iba (Watson) Hudson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during World War II.

Mr. Hudson was a barber/hairstylist for the past 56 years and had owned his own barber shop in Mountain Home for 30 years. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Mountain Home, where he was a member. Mr. Hudson married the mother of his children, Joan, on Dec. 23, 1947, who passed away after 63 years of marriage. Mr. Hudson married his current wife, Virginia, on May 5, 2012. Mr. Hudson was an avid fisherman and hunter and a humanitarian who enjoyed visiting hospital patients and nursing home residents.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joan; three sisters; three brothers; and a son in law, Jim Lentz.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home;

A son, Cletus W. Hudson Jr. and his wife, Lana, of Ft. Smith;

Two daughters, Ann Lentz of Mountain Home and Kim Barton and her husband, Steve, of Thaxton, Miss.,

Two step-sons, Eugene and Stephen Bukovi of South Florida;

A step-daughter, Heidi Moore of Gaithersburg, Md.,

Two brothers, Jim Hudson and Jerry Hudson, both of Blytheville;

A sister, Bonnie Kamler of Blytheville; and

Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, with the Rev. Max Pyron officiating. A private entombment will follow the service at the Mausoleum of Honor at Baxter Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Monday from noon-9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m .. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 774 Long Street, Mountain Home, AR 72653. Donations may also be made to the Deacon's Benevolent Fund of First Baptist Church of Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
