Doris Nell Bassing

Mrs. Doris Nell Bassing, 80, of Leachville, passed from this life Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center. Born at Lipan, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Olan and Dorothy Onie Pope Camp and had lived most of her life in Haskell, Texas. She had been a Leachville resident since 1990, was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, and a regular volunteer at the Buffalo Island Central East Elementary campus.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Michel Bassing, in 1986.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Mr. Charlie William Bassing of Leachville; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Cherryl Bassing of Monette; five grandchildren, Matthew Bassing, Mark Bassing, Leah Myers, Joshua Bassing and

Angelia Witcher. She also leaves 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Leachville Cemetery with Mr. Charlie Bassing and Mr. Tim Bassing officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.

Pallbearers were Matthew Bassing, Mark Bassing, Jeremy Myers, Megan Bassing, Lisa Bassing, and Leah Bassing Myers. There was no visitation.
