Mr. David Riddle, 66, of Steele, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis. Mr. Riddle was born May 10, 1946, in Detroit, and had lived in Steele since 1976 and was formerly of Trumann and Jonesboro. He was a technician for Southwest Bell Telephone and a member of the Armorel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, C.L. "Buz" Samford Jr.; his adoptive parents, James Fletcher and Lela Mildred Posey Riddle; his mother, Ruth Elizabeth Riddle Samford; and his father, Plaise Carnelias Johnson;

He is survived by his wife, Karen Henry Riddle of the home;

Two daughters, Karie Lawrence and husband, Wade, of Munford, Tenn., and Kristi Robertson and husband, Scotty, of Steele;

Two sisters, Connie Pritchard of Steele and Teri Bonds of Alabama;

Two brothers, Dennis Riddle of Millington, Tenn., and Larry Johnson of Memphis; and

Four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with the Rev. David Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers will be David Bond, John Wilard, Robert Crane, Marty Bins, Buzz Mays, Terry Copeland, Todd Mays and Ken Finch.

Honorary pallbearers will be R.B. Murphy, Jack Ashmore, Larry Goff, Danny Ashmore and Hugh Don Ashmore.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at John W. German Funeral Home in Steele and from noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home with the funeral to follow. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
