Mr. Nelson Cox, 82, of Blytheville, passed from this life Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Heritage Square Nursing Center in Blytheville.

Born in Keiser to Lawrence T. and Olive Viola Wallis Cox, he was retired from Missco Implement and was of the Baptist Faith. Nelson was an avid fisherman and loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes. For years, he often farmed in this area in his spare time. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. Nelson served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juliet Ann Cox; two brothers, Edward and L.T. Cox; and a sister, Lillie Irene Coats.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Elizabeth Hall and husband, Bob, of Blytheville;

A son, Shannon Cox and wife, Penny, of Blytheville;

Five sisters, Ada Langley of Mountain Home, Ollie Bell Posey and husband, Sidney, of Olive Branch, Miss., Fannie Lou Cartwright and husband, Bill, and Janice Ann McClain and husband, Tony, both of Keiser, and Gracie Lee Camp of Brighton, Tenn.; and

Two grandchildren, Wesley Clinton Hall of North Charleston, S.C., and Jessica Lee Green of Blytheville.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Fairview Baptist Church in Blytheville with the Rev. Collin Jones officiating. Committal services will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
