Kenneth E. Caldwell

Kenneth E. Caldwell, 80, of Lake City, died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at his home after following a brief struggle with cancer.

Born in Caraway, Kenneth lived most of his life in Lake City. He was a retired farmer and was of the Baptist belief. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the Cadillac Club.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Truie Qualls Caldwell, and by a brother, Don Caldwell.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Caldwell of the home; four daughters, Linda Hunt of Conway, Romona Duncan of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kathy McKinney of Paragould, and Karinda Caldwell of Lake City; a brother, Leo Caldwell of Lake City; two sisters, Juanita (Short) Hickman of Black Oak, and Verneil Allen of Adair, Okla.; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

Active pallbearers include Chris Cambron, Marc Duncan, Bradley Hunt, Bo Harmon, Jon Milligan, and Del Valdez.

Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 in Jonesboro Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Ward officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.
