A five-year plan to satisfy the IRS

Friday, February 24, 2012

To the editor:

The IRS wants their money. The citizens don't want to be taxed. We owe to the tune of $3.2 million. The city will be in shambles if we don't pass the tax. It will take 15 months to pay off the IRS.

I say we set up a five-year payment plan. I say we shut down the golf course, not sell it, just no more $500,000 a year. Five years, thats $2.5 million. The water company is now raking in $1 million a year. Five years, thats 5 more millon. That puts us at $7.5 million in five years. Maybe more than that, now that we are not having Council members fix water bills anymore.

IRS needs anymore cash, we got some farm land. During the five years, we will hold a special election to use the parks and recreation tax money toward the $3.2 million debt ... let's say there's a million in it. That puts us at 8.5. No new taxes, no cutting jobs or services, just minus one golf course. If thats still not enough, maybe the city could invest in the Powerball.
