Mary Helen Hamilton, 85, passed from this earth to be with her heavenly Father on Feb. 1, 2012. She was at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born March 26, 1926, to the late James Earl and Mary Leslie in Monette. She lived most of her life in Monette and Lake City. Mrs. Hamilton graduated from Monette High School in 1946. Her girls attended the same school as she did. She retired from Brown Shoe Factory.

Mrs. Mary was happiest when spending time with her family. She was a devoted and caring mother. She loved to read, sew, crochet and garden. To anyone that knew her she was devoted to her daughters. She was a constant rock for them. She also loved her church family at Lake City First Baptist Church, where she was a member.

Mrs. Mary was the loving mother of four daughters, Karon Chrisco of Sulphur Rock, Kaye Tabor and husband Steve of Dyersburg, Tenn., Nancy Hickman and husband Tony of Jonesboro and Monica Owens and husband Donnie of Lake City; a sister, Ionia Safely of Joplin, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Lesley Mims, Chad Chrisco, Dustin Chrisco, Abigail Tabor, Chett Hickman, Brett Hickman, Mark Hickman, Matt Hickman, Ryan Fletcher and Kelly Wallis; 10 great-grandchildren, Jacob Chrisco, Gabriel Chrisco, Riley Chrisco, Emily Mims, Lilly Hickman, Levi Hickman, Molly Jane Hickman, Chris Mims, Kierney Wallis and Jackson Wallis.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Troy, Floyd, Roy and Harold Leslie.

A celebration of her life was 2 p.m. Friday, Feb.3, at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Pastor Jon Lorch officiating. Burial was in the Monette Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were her grandsons, Chad Chrisco, Dustin Chrisco, Brett Hickman, Chett Hickman, Mark Hickman, Matt Hickman and Ryan Fletcher.

Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters, Leslie Mims and Abigail Tabor.

Those wishing to leave memorials may leave it to Lake City First Baptist Church Mission Fund or to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
