Citizens can't affort to "suck it up" with tax

To the editor:

I am writing in regard to the letter to the editor urging citizens of Blytheville to "suck it up" and pay the tax.

I seriously doubt the IRS will seize anyone's bank accounts, and for the majority of the people here, it would not matter. You see, the majority of the people here live check to check. We don't have money in the bank for the IRS to take. We are the ones who suffer from the tax, the poor! We are taxed too much as it is now.

All across America, corruption is running rampant, money vanishing, nobody knows what happened to it, and if you ask what happened to it you are told, don't worry about it. Taxes don't go away, they are there to stay. They never just vanish like the money does.

So let's say we suck it up and pay the tax. What happens next time it happens? Do we just suck it up again? The citizens suck it up 'til we are all in the poor house. We are struggling to eat, and you want us to pay so are city does not suffer. Get out in the city and take a look around. We are suffering.

Now they don't want us to have representation at City Council meetings. The more you try to silence people, the louder they scream. We want solid answers. So no! The good people of Blytheville will not suck it up. We will vote no on the new taxes because enough is enough. It doesn't scare poor people when you tell them they are going to be poorer, it just makes them angry.
