Gordon Elbert "Jack" Miller

Mr. Gordon Elbert "Jack" Miller, of Leachville, Ark., departed this life Monday morning, Jan. 30, 2012, at his home, at the age of 82. He was born June 4, 1929 in Delfore, the son of Jesse Reeves "Boss" Miller and Mary Edna Barnes Miller. Jack married Moba Lee Byrd in 1958 and they enjoyed 53 years together. Jack was a well known farmer and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Leachville. He was a loving husband and father. In his younger days he enjoyed duck hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as one of the best daddies and grandpas there ever was. He loved playing dominoes and eating out.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Mary Miller, and two brothers, Bob Miller and Raymond Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Moba Lee Miller of the home; two sons, Gordon E. Miller, Jr. and his wife Missi, of Leachville, Gregory Scott Miller and his wife Kristin, of Austin; one brother, James Miller of Jonesboro; one sister, Mary Frances Wallace of Monette; three grandchildren, Jordon Miller, Caleb Miller and Connor Miller.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Second Baptist Church in Leachville, with Rev. Lee Davis and Rev. Captain Lovell officiating.

Interment will follow in Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Friends may visit at the church Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00.

Mack Bounds, Brian Johnston, Boyce Long, Ralph Wells, Rodney Robertson, and Kenny Jackson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Byrd, Keith Byrd, Barry Byrd, Stan Miller, Rod Miller, James Byrd, Donnie Williams, Ed Dempsey, Bob Crites, Dink Gadberry, and Lloyd Carmichael.
