Bobby Joe Tenison

Mr. Bobby Joe Tenison, son of the late Roy and Beulah Nunnery Tennison, was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Braggadocio, Mo., and died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at his home in Denton, Mo., at the age of 80.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army and while stationed in England was united in marriage with Patricia Ayers Tenison, who preceded him in death on May 16, 2005.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching the Eagles on television and everyone who knows him knows he enjoyed driving around in the country.

After retiring from the military he worked many years for South Pemiscot Schools as a maintenance supervisor.

He was preceded in death by one brother, R.C. Tennyson, and five sisters, Imogene Dennis, Peggy Glass, Ann Patton, Shirley King, and Faye Marley.

He leaves one son, Bobby Joe Tenison Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Steele;

Two daughters Carol (and Billy) Copeland of Dyersburg, and Patricia (and John) Clayton of Hartsville, Ala.;

One sister, Freda Harris, of Jackson, Tenn.;

Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and

Eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Powell Funeral Home in Steele with funeral services set for 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dunklin County Memorial Gardens in Kennett with the Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating.
