Mrs. Amelia Barbara Grey, 72, of Osceola, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at her home in Osceola. She was born and reared in Osceola where she attended school. She was a member of Solomon Temple COGIC.

Prior to her illness, she was a cook at Osceola Public Schools.

Her mother, Mrs. Annie Mae Veasley, and her sister, Mary Louise, preceded her in death.

She leaves her husband, James Grey of the home;

Three daughters, Mrs. Sharon (and Clarence) Williams of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Beverly (and Frank) Booker of Memphis, and Mrs. Angela (and Leon) Harris of Jonesboro;

A son, Jamie (and Monika) Grey of Memphis;

Her father, Elder Albert Veasley Sr. of Osceola;

Five sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Boss of Dover, Del., Mrs. Arlene Randolph and Mrs. Arnetha Parnell, both of Osceola, Mrs. Betty (and Charles) Wyatt of Williamsburg, Va., and Mrs. LaFaye (and Percy) Bland of Chaddsford, Pa.;

Three brothers, Elder Albert (and Bertha) Veasley Jr., James Ed (and Margaret) Veasley, and Calvin (and Doris) Veasley, all of Osceola; and

Eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Promiseland Church of God in Christ, S. Hwy. 61 in Osceola, with Elder Johnny L. Moore, pastor, and Elder Robert Parnell delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Whiteside Gardens in Osceola.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time Friday with McDonald-Horne Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
