Peggy Joyce Grimes

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Grimes, 62, of Lepanto, died cancer Thurs., Jan. 5, 2012, in Jonesboro. Born Feb. 5, 1949, in Moundville, she was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Spergin and Molly Cook, and her sister, Ruby Averette.

Mrs. Grimes leaves her husband, Mike Grimes;

Three daughters, Tamatha Brassfield and Shelly Richardson of Blytheville, and Rhonda Elders of Alabama;

Two sons, James Corley Jr. and Gary Corley, both of Alabama;

One brother, Sonny Cook of Alabama; and

Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services, officiated by Dr. Terri Brassfield and Bro. Tim Fulks, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. The family received visitors at the funeral home from noon until the service began. Burial followed at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
