Helener 'Punch' Holstead

Mrs. Helener "Punch" Holstead, 92 of Blytheville, passed from this life Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born to Pleas B. and Blanche Lee Wrenn Jarrett in the Loneoak Community she was a lifelong resident and an active member of the Aldersgate Methodist Church.

"Punch" was a retired central office clerk at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club. Her parents; husband, Thomas "Tom" Edwin Holstead; a daughter who died at birth; and sisters, Mildred Cassidy and Edith Epperson all preceded her in death.

"Punch" leaves two nephews, Bob Cassidy and his wife, Donna of Fulton, Ill., and Edwin Holstead and his wife, Cherry Sue, of Blytheville; and

Several other nieces and nephews and special friends and caregivers, Linda and Wheeler Gracy of Blytheville.

A gathering of friends and family, immediately followed by a Service of Committal, will be held from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marilyn Webb officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Aldersgate Methodist Church or the charity of choice.
