Jimmy R. Atchley

Mr. Jimmy R. Atchley, 67, of Steele, passed from this life Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Born to Roy and Bernice "Bonnie" Roberts Atchley in Blytheville, he attended Pathway Church of God and enjoyed spending time with his family. His love for family and God was a solid, stabilizing force in Jimmy's life. Throughout his lifelong disabling illness he always tried to make the best of any situation. His life showed great courage and stamina as he faced his day-to-day challenges. Jimmy was quick to make friends because of his easy going nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lewis Lunsford.

He leaves his brother, Terry Atchley of Trumann;

Four sisters and their husbands, Shirley and Paul Willett and Barbara and Charles Spillers of Fort Valley, Ga., Mary and Allen Martin of Boca Rotan, Fla., Bonnie and Jack Marshall of Abbeyville, S.C., and

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cobb Funeral Home. A guest register can be signed at www.cobbfuneralhome.com
