Dorothy Jean Ficklen, 57, of Osceola, died of heart failure Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, in her home. Born July 23, 1954, in Osceola, she was a Pentecostal and was retired from the retail clothing industry.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Ann Ficklen; her sisters Hattie Reed, Bernice Estell and Ruby Crawford; and her brothers John Adkins and Shelton Ficklen.

Ms. Ficklen leaves her special friend, Dave Gray of Osceola;

One daughter, Caroline (and Willie) Irons of Memphis;

One son, John Wright of Cordova;

Five sisters, Pearl Pugh of Forrest Park, Fannie Roberts of Helena, Rosetta Clifton of Montgomery, Georgia Blackman of Osceola and Leatrice Foster of Osceola;

Two brothers, Sylvester Adkins of Chicago and Carl Watkins of Bloomington; and

Two grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by Dr. Moses Black, will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Whiteside Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
