Information sought on Beckman family

Friday, September 23, 2011

To the editor:

I sure hope anyone there can help me. I am looking for some information on the Beckman family that lived there in Blytheville about the year 1900, and where they lived when they came there from Tennessee. I am doing a family history on my mother's side. Her father was G.W. Beckman and her mother was Dolsie Beckman. They had three daughters and thee sons born there.

My mother was born in Tennessee and after she was born they moved to Arkansas. I have to sisters who were born there also.

I hope there is someone that could help me. Maybe there is something in the archives or newspaper articles about them. My aunt, Madie M. Logan, died there about 1900, I'm not for sure.

I am trying to finish my mother's family history on her mother and father's side. Now my father married my mother there in Mississippi County, Ark., in 1932. I have the marriage license. Her name was Almer Beckman Nady, and his name was Jeff E. Nady. He came from Dewitt, Ark., to Blytheville, then they married there. They might have had a farm or someone might know where they lived.

I have looked all over the Internet for information on them and can't find anything. I know it's a lot of work, but I've been trying to find my grandmother's family too. Their names were McGowan. For five years, she came from Tennessee and I can't find her family either, so I hope you can find out about my grandfather.

If there are any obits on any Beckmans, they would help me. Please send them. I am living on a fixed income and trying to find anything that might help me. I have a lot of family from Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, California, Chicago, Kentucky and Tennessee, but no one can help me find anything on his family. If there are any Census records of heads of households that would help I hope.

So I will let you go and hope you can help me.
