Christine Minyard Jackson

Saturday, September 17, 2011

Mrs. Christine Minyard Jackson, 82, of Dell, passed from this life Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at her residence in Dell.

Born to Robert L. and Lula Mae Corley Minyard in Dell, she was a lifelong resident, a homemaker and a member of the Dell Baptist Church. Christine's husband, James F. Jackson Jr.; sisters, Mary Minyard Hogan, Juanita Minyard Dedman, Betty Minyard Hogan; brother, Robert "Jack" Minyard; great-grandchild, Bailey Jackson; and her parents all preceded her in death.

At her bedside, as she went home was her family who surrounded her with all their love and gratitude for all she had done to make their lives so full. Her love for God, family and friends was exhibited in all that she did for her entire life. One of her greatest assets was her ability to cook. She was notoriously known for her chicken and dressing, chicken and dumplings and her fried chicken. She had plenty of practice with family and friends but she was also the head of the Crisis Committee at Dell Baptist Church for many years. Every time there was a death in the community, she would start getting out the chicken. Christine also loved to quilt. She would spend many hours making quilts for family and friends. Every act and deed she did was because of the servant's heart that God had endowed her with. This coupled with her characteristics of love, honor and trust made her a special blessing to all she came in contact with.

She leaves her family, Kenny and Joyce Jackson, Michael and Diane Jackson, Tina and Scott Hyde and Sheila Reams, all of Dell;

A brother, Harold J. Minyard of Dell;

Her grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson of Dell, Valerie Jackson Stabbs of Manila, Michael Joe Jackson of Dell, Dana Jackson Meador of Paragould, and Jake Reams and Callie Reams of Dell; and

Her great-grandchildren, Kinsley Stabbs and Addison Stabbs, both of Manila.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. today in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Jeff Lammers and Bobby Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family received friends Monday at Cobb Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Dell Baptist Church. Condolences may be emailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net
