Michael Vick defended

Friday, September 2, 2011

To the editor:

This is in response to Mr. Daniel Honaker's ridiculous call for a boycott of Micheal Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles (as stated in a Letter To The Editor column on Aug. 31, 2011).

First of all, I agree that Michael Vick committed horrible and horrendous acts, but shall he be punished for it for the rest of his life? What would be a just punishment in your eyes, Sir?

It is quite obvious that Michael Vick is a changed man. He's put in hours of community service; donated to several charities and to the Humane Society; plus, he has spoken out against dog fighting all of the country. He has even went before Congress to voice his support of a bill that imposes stricter punishment for dog fighting. He has not been required to do ANY of this, by anyone or in any way.

Micheal's rise back to the top is a true American comeback story. He has done remarkable things on and off the field, too many to list here. Through Vick we see that no matter where you come from or what you have done, there is always hope. He is a very remorseful and humble person who has made the most of his second chance. He has stated time and time again that he is glad that he was caught or he would still be doing the same things.

In closing, sir, I just hope that you are given the forgiveness that you have been so reluctant to show others. Have a great day and I hope that your boycott is "Vick-torious!"
