Mrs. Margaret Ellen Pennington, 82, of Brunswick, Maine, formerly of Blytheville, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Pennington was an area resident for most of her life until moving to Tennessee, and then Maine, in 2003 to be near her children.

Born in Burdette to George Douglas and Elsie Pearl Sparks Riddle, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Blytheville.

After retiring from Myers Bakery, Margaret enjoyed working in her yard and garden and loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Pennington; a son, Christopher Pennington; two brothers, Norman Riddle and James Riddle; and two sisters, Alice Riddle and Mary Lou Maupin.

She leaves her daughter, Deborah Kay Ladd,

Her husband, Wayne, and a son, James Pennington Jr., both of Brunswick;

A daughter-in-law, Karen Pennington of Bumpus Mills, Tenn.;

Two brothers, Noble Riddle and his wife, Dorothy, of Fredericktown, Mo., and George Riddle Jr. and his wife, Danie, of Palmersville, Tenn.;

Six grandchildren, Kathy Damery and her husband, Scott, Michael Ladd and his wife, Malinda, Kim Fritz and her husband Joe, Brian Ladd, Tara Wallace and Brandi Bowersox and her husband, Brett; and

Ten great-grandchildren, Jessica Damery, Isaac Damery, Rebecca Damery, Christina Ellen Damery, Dakota Wallace, Brandon Wallace, Cody Fritz, Samantha Fritz, Gabriel Fritz and Layla Bowersox.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be emailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net
