Mrs. Thelma Rice Putman, 81, of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011. Born Jan. 27, 1930, to Louis Rice and Naomi Rice, she was a retired staff accountant for various firms and a charter member of the Lakeshore Heights Baptist Church.

She moved to Hot Springs when she married her husband of 39 years, Ray Dell Putman.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a son, Ricky Alan Putman; and two sisters, Odie Herring and Irene Barber

Mrs. Putman leaves one daughter, Tina Kuntz of Hot Springs;

Two sons, Danny Putman and wife Toni of Atoka, Tenn., and Greg Putman of Hot Springs.

Four sisters, Jewell Carr and her husband, Jerome, of Cleveland, Louise Hartwig and her husband, Fred, of Kansas City, Kan., Jean Branit of Kansas City, and Dorothy Hyde of Blytheville;

One brother, Donald Rice and his wife, Ann, of Little Rock; and

Five grandsons, two granddaughters and two great-grand children.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale funeral Home in Hot Springs. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery. The familyreceived visitors from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
