Julie Marie Spade

Mrs. Julie Marie Newton Spade, 72, went peacefully to be with her Lord, Friday,July 8, 2011, following her battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded byfamily at her passing as her hope and faith remained strong during her

illness.

Julie was born to the late Edgar and Mozelle Newton in 1939 in Valdese, N.C.

In additition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Walker and Joann Martin; and a brother, Ralph Newton.

Julie leaves her husband and devoted friend of 33 years, Jerome Miller Spade.

Julie was blessed with the greatest joys of her life, her four children, Sherri Phelps, Wanda Goins, Robert Crawley and Karen Crawley;

Ten grandchildren, Julia Huffman, Robert Phelps, Teela Phelps, Johnny Phelps, Coti Crawley, Cassen Carr, Carissa Crawley, Jonathan Crawley, Allison Stillion and Chandler Stillion; and

Four great-grandchildren, Paige Phelps, Kyleigh Phelps, Payton Huffman and Kiyah Huffman.

She also leaves her dear siblings, including a brother, Junior Newton of Valdese; and four sisters, Mary Buff of Morganton, Ethel Moses of Casar, Hazel Crawley of Lincolnton and Ruby Swafford of Drexel.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.

Funeral services will follow at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Owens. Burial will follow at St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery.
