George Earle Holliman Jr.

George Earle Holliman Jr., 97, of Sacramento, Calif., died June 27, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Sacramento. Born Feb. 7, 1914, in Bluff City, he was a retired factory worker and a member of Mount Olive MB Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Holliman Sr. and Minnie Holliman; his wife, Annie Holliman; two daughters, Mary Thomas and Beluhlah Holliman; one son, George Holliman III; four sisters; and six brothers.

Mr. Holliman leaves seven daughters, Geneva Haney of Bragg City, Inita (Edmund) Jones of Blytheville, Berthina Yarborough of Compton, Lilly Ivory of Chico, Dorothy (Elijah) King, Addie (Isaac) Pirtle of Blytheville and Carolyn Holliman of Jonesboro;

Nine sons, Jimmy (Mattie) Robinson, Lee Robinson, Benny (Celestine) Holliman, and Johnny Holliman of Blytheville, Greg (Danielle) Holliman of Gosnell, Anthony (Goldie) Holliman of Marion, Elroy Holliman of Lexington, Xavier (Shanda) Holliman of Granger and Larry (Madge) of Radcliffe; and

A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Jerome Elliott, will take place at Bridging the Gap Ministries at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge.
