Winnie Lou Craig Wiley

Mrs. Winnie Lou Craig Wiley, 92, of Wilson, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, in Decatur, Ga. She was born in Munford, Tenn., Sept. 22, 1918, to Robert C. and Mary Emma Craig. Mrs. Wiley was the eldest of four girls and three boys.

She moved to Wilson after marrying Lester Gilbert Wiley Nov. 7, 1936. They were married for more than 55 years until his death in 1992. During those years, they had two children, Billy Wayne Wiley of Wilson and Mary Lou Wiley Gennings of Stone Mountain, Ga.

They also had three grandchildren, Janet Lee Wiley of Fort Worth, Texas, Steven Craig Wiley of Wilson and Leah Gennings of Ila, Ga.

Mrs. Wiley was blessed with six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wiley worked for many years at the Wilson Post Office and had many years of enjoyment with Eastern Star, Wilson United Methodist Church, Women's Society of Christian Service and the Wilson Cooperative Club. She was a friend to all and was known for her baking skills. She took pride in feeding any visitors that came into her home and her door was always open.

Funeral services will be at Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola Friday, July 1, 2011. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 3 p.m.
