Florence Louella Smith

Mrs. Florence Louella Smith, a resident of West Memphis, departed this life Thursday, June 23, 2011, in West Memphis at the age of 85. She was born June 24, 1925, in Colt, the daughter of Ed and Effie Holliday Grant. She married Ollie Ray Smith on Dec. 31, 1945.

She was a lifelong member of the Fair Oaks, Smith Center and First Assembly of God in Wynne. She worked as a splitter operator at Addison Shoe Factory before retiring. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She leaves one son, Donald Smith, and wife, Sandra, of Blytheville;

One daughter, Mary Kathryn Smith of Memphis; and

One granddaughter, Donna Smith of Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne with burial following in Crosslawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family requests memorials be made to the Senior Adults class of the First Assembly of God.
