OK, so Henry Wadsworth Longfellow took a great deal of poetic license when writing that famous poem we all had to memorize in grade school about the ride of Revolutionary War hero Paul Revere. But since there seems to be some ... er ... uh ... confusion (going to be good, I promise) about just what did happen that night, I thought maybe it would be a good time to remind everyone about the events that led up to the battles of Lexington and Concord, the first true battles of the Revolution and the first victories by colonial militiamen against British military regulars.
