Volunteers helped make state tournament a success

To the editor:

I would like to personally thank all the volunteers who helped me put on the 1A state tournament at the Blytheville Sports Complex and Armorel School.

They worked many hours to get ready and many at the fields. Also, thanks to all merchants that donated food and items to help put this on.

I would like to thank Mr. Young and the Armorel School Board for allowing us to host the tournament. It was a big project and we had some bad weather, but overall, it was fun. Thanks to Larry Morris and his field crew; also Charlie Brown and his crew at Armorel School.

The tournament brought a lot of new people to Blytheville and I think they enjoyed the Southern hospitality at restaurants and the fields. It was a big endeavor for us to do it, but it was fun.

The city of Blytheville was put on the map, and I hope we can do it again sometime. It was also a big financial boost to the city, and I know they appreciated our efforts.

Thanks again,
