Karen Kay Johnson Freligh

Mrs. Karen Kay Johnson Freligh, 45, of Blytheville, passed from this life Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born to James and Winona Downs Johnson in Aransas Pass, Texas, she was and area resident for the past six and a half years. Mrs. Freligh was a member of the Gosnell Baptist Church and a graduate of the Beeville Community College in Beeville, Texas. She received her associate degree and was a member of Alpha-Phi-Delta Sorority. Mrs. Freligh was the assistant office manager for Arkansas Counseling Associates in Blytheville and enjoyed being around and riding horses in her home pastures.

Mrs. Freligh loved to work needlepoint and was very active in her church activities. Karen's greatest joy in life was when she was able to be with her family. When the word family is used around Karen it is a worldwide term. Karen and Michael have touched many lives as sponsors of 11 foreign exchange students from all over the world. It really didn't matter what it was as long as they were together. Mrs. Freligh's strongest attribute was her devotion as a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Such a person as Karen will truly be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Freligh's father and a step-son, Phillip Freligh, preceded her in death.

She leaves her husband, Michael Freligh of the home;

A son, Christopher R. Freligh. also of the home;

Two step-daughters, Heidi Moore and her husband, Ronnie, of Blytheville and Melissa Marion and her husband, Garland of Tulsa, Okla.;


Her mother and step-father, Nonie and Homer Moses of Goliad, Texas

A brother, Roy Johnson and his wife, Jennifer, of Aransas Pass, Texas;

Two sisters, Janice Wright of Tyler, Texas, and Vickie Pegues of Marceline, Mo. and;

Five step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Gosnell Baptist Church with Dr. Eddie Clemons officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home. Graveside services will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Linwood Cemetery in Paragould. Memorials may be given to the Gosnell Baptist Church or Trinity Behavioral Health, 1033 Old Burr Road, Warm Springs, AR. Condolences may be e-mailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net
