Tommy James

Mr. Tommy James, 71, of Osceola, died Friday, May 13, 2011, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti. Born in Osceola, he was the son of Willie Brown and Pauline Joshua. Mr. James had lived away from Osceola but returned more than 30 years ago, and worked as an employee of Crusade Paper and American Greetings, until he was unable to work.

He leaves eight daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Dickerson, Mrs. Rosalie Harmon, Ms. Estelle James and Ms. Jewel James, all of Salibury, Mrs. Jennifer (and Sammy) Young of Osceola, Ms. Tammy Hampton of St. Louis, Ms. Angela White of Ft. Wayne, and Ms. Priscilla James of Delaware;

Six sons, Leon Dozier of Salibury, Reginald James and James "JimBob" Mitchell, both of Delaware, Tommy James Jr. of Osceola, Reginald (and Tasha) White of Kokomo, and Rodney Smith of Springfield;

Five sisters, Mrs. Doris (and Sylvester) Hodges and Ms. Judy Brown of Osceola, Mrs. Faye (and Johnny) Gray of Kankakee, Mrs. Estella Bryant of Blackville, and Mrs. Darlene McAdory of West Memphis;

Six brothers, Elder Henry Brown and Freddy Brown of Blytheville, Joseph Brown of Kankakee, Albert Brown of Chipley, and Sidney Brown and Edward Brown of Osceola; and

Forty-six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Living Word Cathedral, officiated by Elder Archie Thomas. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the service begins.
