Pearlie B. "Sista" Fowler

Pearlie B. "Sista" Fowler departed this life Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born March 4, 1948, in Blytheville, to Earnest and Addie Jenkins-Fowler, Pearlie -- most commonly known as "Sista" -- confessed a hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of S.A. Parker and united with the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

Sista enjoyed cooking, cleaning and being around her family. She worked for the Blytheville truck stop for 23 years and was employed at the time of her death at the Blytheville Country Club, where she had been for the past 12 years. Sista's beautiful smile will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Sista leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Marvin Jerome Fowler and Rainey Ted (and Patrice) Fowler of Blytheville;

Her father, Earnest Fowler of Blytheville;

Five sisters, Shirley Andrews, JoAnn Fowler, Judy Pope and Sybil Chew, all of Blytheville, and Shirley Jean (and Robert) Day of Oklahoma City;

Seven brothers, Earnest (and Virginia) Fowler Jr., Luster (and Rosetta) Fowler, Larry (and Earnestine) Fowler, Quincy (and Ethel) Fowler, Grady Dean (and Linda) Fowler, Brady Dexter (and Lulu) Fowler, all of Blytheville, and Michael D. (and Annie) Fowler of Indianapolis;

Three grandsons, Marvin J. Fowler, Jr., DeAndre Evans, and Roosevelt Evans, all of Blytheville;

Three great-grandchildren, Marqwon, Masiya and Deriyon, all of Blytheville;

Two uncles, Luster (and Lillian) Fowler of Chicago and Moses Mullins of Blytheville;

A very close friend, Rosie B. Hurn of Blytheville; and

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. Funeral services will be held at Prince of Peace Church at 3 p.m. Saturday.
