Georgia Wilkins Heard

Ms. Georgia Wilkins Heard, 81, died Saturday, April 2, 2011.

She was a dedicated servant of New Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, before relocating to Kansas City, Mo. During her stay in Blytheville, she was employed at Borg Warner Manufacturing, as well as with Dr. W. W. Workman and Dr. Mary Bell of Blytheville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Charlie Mae Jones and Bernice Chew ;and a brother, Prentiss Thompson.

She leaves two brothers, LaGrase Murphy and Larry Murphy;

Two daughters, Brenda K. Wright of Kansas City and Susan Tillman of Woodbridge, Va.;

Two sons and a daughters-in-law, Wendell and Linda Heard of San Antonio, Texas and Henry Williams of Houston; and

Eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville with the Rev. Lawrence Echols Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Garden. Visitation will be from noon-1:45 p.m. at the church Saturday. Mays Funeral Home of Memphis is in charge of arrangements.
