Artifact ID day a success

Thanks so much to all the residents and visitors who attended the Arkansas Archeological Survey's Artifact ID day on Saturday, March 26.

Despite the cold pouring rain, we had a wonderful turnout at the Delta Gateway Museum in historic downtown Blytheville. Not only did many Mississippi County residents attend, but people came from as far away as Lepanto and southeast Missouri.

We hope we were able to satisfy their curiosity about the dozens of intriguing artifacts they brought. Thanks also to Leslie Hester, director of the Museum, who provided the venue for this Archeology Month event, got the word out about it, and arranged for a temporary exhibit of Native American pottery.
