Letter to the Editor

Youth group lends a welcome helping hand

To the editor:

This letter is intended to tell the general public about a great youth group. We always hears on the news about those that go astray but seldom hear of the goodness our youth have in their hearts.

I am considered to be a senior citizen by some individuals, and was cleaning the leaves out of my ditch so the drainage would not get blocked. I had just started working when a van pulled into my driveway. The doors opened and youth started pouring out of the van. The back of the van was opened by a gentleman named Matt. My unexpected but welcome visitors grabbed black trash bags and rakes and bagged the leaves making short work of my stopped-up ditch. What this group did in a few minutes would have taken me a couple hours. I did not hear one complaint from this fine group of individuals.

This youth group is from the Lone Oak Baptist Church at Half Moon. I wish to thank them for their work and to let them know how much they were greatly appreciated. I am proud of every one of them.
