Ausie Young

Mr. Ausie Young, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. He was born in Potts Camp, Miss., Oct. 4, 1920, the son of Samuel Robert Young and Lucy Lee Burris Young.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hope Emily King Young on Dec. 27, 2006.

He was preceded in death by his five siblings, Pauline Young of Potts Camp, Lavelle Garrett of Dell, Lucy Lee Peterson of Blytheville, Robert Young of Potts Camp, and Wylie D. Young of Blytheville.

Mr. Young lived at 1125 Ward Lane in Blytheville for 44 years. Before moving to Blytheville, he lived in the Cole Ridge community where he farmed for more than 30 years. After retiring from farming he worked at various farm equipment shops. He was a master cotton picker mechanic and co-owned a cotton picker shop at Armorel until he was 81 years old.

Mr. Young's hobbies were gardening, lawn care , working in his backyard shop, and he especially loved a good coon hunt. He read his Bible every day for hours, and prayed every night for a couple of hours before bedtime. While living in the Cole Ridge community, he was a member of the Cole Ridge Baptist Church, and when he moved to Blytheville, he joined the New Liberty Baptist Church, in 1978. He was an active deacon, teacher, and Sunday School Director for over 68 years.

He leaves one son, James Robert "Bobby" Young;

Three daughters, Wanda Talley (and Jerry), Judy Faye Sanders (and Bill), and Jackie Sims (and Mike); and

Nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Carney Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Hardesty officiating.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
