William Joseph Allen

Mr. William Joseph Allen, 57, of Osceola, died of a stroke Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, in Memphis. Born Oct. 27, 1953, in Nodena, he was a Baptist and worked in railroad construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvira McCully and Luther Allen.

Mr. Allen leaves four sisters, Marie Shelton of Detroit, Earnestine Minor of Bassett, Viola Metcalf of Gosnell and Mary Blanchard of Osceola; and

Six brothers, Robert Allen and Augusta West of Osceola, Luther Allen Jr. of South Bend, Scott Allen and Anthony Robinson of Memphis, and Willie James Robinson.

The family will receive visitors from nooon-2 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Osceola, with funeral services following at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Bryant Whitted. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette. Arrangements are being handled by the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
