Mr. Jack Jackson Smithey, 76, of Keiser, died of heart failure Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born March 19, 1934, in Mississippi, he was a retired butcher, an Army veteran and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Jackson Smithey and Elsie Smithey.

Mr. Smithey leaves his wife, Mary Smithey of Keiser;

One daughter, Tammy Gipson of Monette;

One step-daughter, Charlotte Younger of Paris;

Two sons, Jerry Jones of Willows and Christopher Jackson Smithey of Champaign;

Two step-sons, Albert Arquitt of Earle and Tim Arquitt of Etowah;

Six sisters, Margie Herring of St. Francisville, Sue Hensley and Ruby Patterson of Tennessee, Nallevine Davis of Burdette, Jeanette Doris Brown of Lepanto and Sarah Church of Searcy; and

Fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Tim Arquitt, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rivercrest Gardens in Marie.
