Mike Crawford

Mr. Mike Crawford, 88, of Smithville, Ga., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, in Americas, Ga. He was born May 1, 1922 in Carson Lake to Frank Crawford and Elzora Burnette Flowers, who preceded him in death.

He was a retired janitorial worker and of the Baptist belief.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Stanley Gates and Joseph "Joe Boy" Crawford; by four sisters, Ollie Mae "Sis" Davis, Virginia "Napi" Crawford, Mable Davis and Fannie Powell; and by five brothers, Clifton, Albert "Manning," Samuel, O.C. "Jim" and Roy Crawford.

He leaves six daughters, Brenda Ford Boyd (and Clinton) of Chicago, Perry Russell (and Earnest) of Memphis, Carolyn Armstrong of Bloomington, Ill., Jacqueline Williams (and Samuel) of Smithville, Ga., Mariah Ambrus (and Devan) of Kansas City, Mo. and Gerlene Crawford of Marvell;

One son, Mike Crawford Jr. of Chicago;

Two sisters, Mary Davenport (and Pless) of Marvell and Beatrice Bledsoe of Brinkley; and

A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola with Dr. Moses Black officiating. Burial followed in Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.
