Mr. Leonard Yankee, 62, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at St Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Blytheville to L.D. and Alice Lucille Wadkins Yankee, he was a lifelong Blytheville resident, a supervisor at Schueck Steel and of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Yankee loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Edna Vernon Yankee; a daughter, Deborah Kincaid; and two sons, Mitchell Dillard and Joey Hitchcock.

He leaves his children, Diane and John Berryhill of Plantersville, Miss., and Jeanette and Chuck Patrick of Steele;

His mother, Lucille Yankee of Blytheville;

Three brothers, Johnny Yankee and his wife Ann and James Yankee and Jimmy Yankee, all of Blytheville; and

Fifteen grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mitchell King Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
