James Allen Richmond, 68, of Allen, Texas, formerly of Osceola, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011.

He worked for Osceola Products for 30 years, the City of Osceola for 10 years and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Richmond and Katie Walters; one son, James Allen Richmond Jr.; four sisters, Everline Richmond Flie, June Richmond Taylor, Juanita Richmond and Dorothy Richmond; and two brothers, T.J. Richmond and Larry T. Richmond.

He leaves his wife, Betty Jones of Allen, Texas;

Three daughters, Surrone (and Jessie) Richmond of Southaven, Miss., Tracey (and Charles) Matlock of Allen, Texas, and Angela (and Randy) Thompson of Carrollton, Va.;

Three sons, Ronnie (and Barbara) Richmond of Crown Point, Ind., Elvest Richmond of Wynne, and Michael Richmond of Washington, D.C.;

One sister, Betty Richmond Flemmings of Chicago;

Six brothers, Willis (and Georgia) Richmond, Leslie Richmond, Bobby (and Regina) Richmond and John (and Minnie) Richmond of Benton Harbor, Mich., Melvin (and Louise) Richmond of Jonesboro and Rev. Curtis (and Carolyn) Pointer of Osceola; and

Thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Osceola with Pastor M.L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.
