Mrs. Helen A. Killett, 89, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. She was born in Memphis to George T. and Helen Byrnes Acree. She attended the University of Memphis where she met the love of her life, Jim Killett. They were married for 66 wonderful years.

Mrs. Killett will best be remembered by her family as a loving mother and devoted wife. She was a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church and an active member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Blytheville for many years. One of her greatest joys was the Explorers Bible Study group and the bond she had with her friends in the group.

Mrs. Killett was also retired from the Blytheville School District. She loved her years at Fairview Elementary as the secretary. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Her other passions in life were Cardinals baseball and the Arkansas Razorbacks. She had many friends in her final years at Elmcroft and will dearly be missed by many.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. Killett; two sisters, Betty Bridges and Jean Acree; and three brothers, George, Bill and Ben Acree.

She leaves her children, James E. "Jimmy" Killett and wife, Nancy, of Lahaina Maui, Hi., Timothy G. Killett and wife, Jeri, of Memphis, Kimbra K. Henry of Austin, Texas, Kevin Albert Killett of Lake City;

Her grandchildren, Lee Killett, Beau Killett, Josh Killett, Shane Killett, Ashleigh Barney, David Henry, Justin Henry, and Nicholas Henry;

A brother-in-law, J. Leon Bridges; and

Seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Stephens Episcopal Church with the Rev. Scott Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Condolences may be e-mailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net
